PEST MANAGEMENT
Most trees and shrubs attract or harbor pests—animals, insects,
disease, destructive fungi. These normal pests are usually kept in
check by natural predators. When this balance is disturbed, we recommended
that you tailor a best management program to your specific needs. The
best practice is to create landscapes that are vigorous, drought tolerant,
resistant to disease, and free of pests. We have effective, cost efficient,
and environmentally friendly tools to help manage many of the common
pests and diseases. Our staff is educated in entomology, tree pathology,
and soil science, in addition to our field expertise, which allows
us to examine and treat your landscape in a more comprehensive and
environmentally friendly light.
CONSULTING
Construction consultation: It often takes five years for the full extent of damage due to construction to present itself in the landscape. This is why we highly recommend that you engage us in a consultation prior to breaking ground on your next project. Whether you are planning a large development, building an addition onto your existing house, or installing a new landscape, it is advantageous to have the input of an arborist on the design team. We inventory the trees and shrubs on your site and determine which are potential candidates for preservation. We help define high use areas used for staging materials and equipment and recommend tree protection zones so that the trees being saved are well protected and will flourish in the new landscape.
Hazardous tree evaluation: The influence of site factors in the development of hazards is enormous. Most failures occur during storm events with unusual winds, saturated soils, or snow and ice loads. Knowledge of tree function and structure, soils, topography, and local climate is critical in assessing failure potential.
Landscape consultation: Our landscape consultation is a valuable service for anyone in the planning stages of a landscape project. We help with site analysis, which includes soil sampling, plant selection and design, irrigation layout, night lighting plans and post installation care.
Plant health consultation: If you have a pest or disease in your landscape, we can identify the problem and provide a strategic plan for corrective action.
